| The Saco River runs from the midst
of the white mountains in New Hampshire and ends in Camp Ellis
in Saco. The course of the river itself is about 134 miles from
start to finish. Being one of the most important and historical
rivers in Maine, it has become widely known and is very famous
to tourism. It is a great area for canoeing and kayaking. The
Saco River is also a wonderful spot for fishing. It is one of
the premier trout fishing areas of New England. It is very abundant
with rainbow trout, brook mouth trout, and brown trout. Or, if
you prefer another fish, it is also bountiful in perch, pickerel,
small mouth bass, big mouth bass, and salmon. But that's not all.
The river is also home to other animals such as bald eagles and
other bird species, moose, deer, and black bears. |
